Principal.jpgMurunyu High School is located in Nakuru North District, Nakuru County. The School is about seven kilometres from the Nakuru –Nyahururu road and 17 kilometres from Nakuru town.
The School is built on a six-acre plot of land donated by Kamoronyo Primary School.
In the year 2000, the Kamoronyo Primary school fraternity together with local leaders, hatched a plan to build a secondary school. After 9 years of discussions, ups and downs, the school was finally established in 2009.
In February 2009, the school enrolled its first form one class with 62 students.  The school was administered by Mr Ramadhan Noor, the then headteacher of Kamoronyo Primary school. The SMC of Kamoronyo Primary School was very supportive. They elected an executive team to head the new secondary school.

In May 2009, the first Principal,Ms Nancy Kinyua, was deployed to the school.   The B.O.G & P.T.A were instituted by the Ministry of Education soon after this.
The Primary School being the initiators of the Secondary School donated six acres of land for Murunyu High School to be built.
Today, seven years down the line, the school has constructed eight classrooms, 17 cubicles of toilets for boys and girls, a staffroom, two laboratories and departmental offices. The School has greatly benefitted from well wishers and the government for it to attain all the development. The C.D.F Subukia Constituency has been very instrumental by building 3 classrooms, teachers’ toilet and one laboratory. Parents have built one classroom, the staffroom, student’s toilets, the kitchen, and the administration block. Ministry of water and Lions Rotary club of Nakuru have each donated a 10,000-litre water tank.
